Katie McConnell Olson, CPA, PHR | President & Founder business and management consultant

Katie started her career in corporate tax audit with the Franchise Tax Board. She then entered into public accounting with a regional CPA firm, where she performed audits of publicly traded manufacturing entities and construction companies. Katie exited that firm in 2011 to help launch and run a start-up CPA firm.

Thereafter, she entered the talent industry with a worldwide recruitment organization. She re-entered public accounting as Director of Recruitment for a large regional CPA firm where she lead the firm’s in-house talent program. Katie formed a hiring consulting practice within that firm and ultimately exited to launch Hire Education Consulting.

Katie has experience in serving clients of all sizes and industries. Her focus is in the middle market for companies with revenues ranging from $5M - $150M with a focus in construction, manufacturing, professional service and agricultural companies, providing hiring consulting, strategic advising and facilitating workshops and retreats.

Katie is a frequent speaker at conferences across the nation on topics including hiring and developing talent and recruitment best practices. Her passions include good food and wine, fitness and travel.

Gina Goodman, PHR | Senior Consultant

Gina is an experienced recruitment professional and talent consultant. She began her career providing recruitment for a variety of industries including IT, marketing and communication, customer service and engineering. She then went on to work for a national telecommunication company, leading the efforts of a large project to hire field technicians, labor and operations across the US. 

Prior to joining Hire Education Consulting Group as a Senior Consultant, Gina worked as a Recruiter with a solar company (that was later acquired by Tesla) providing talent advisory for electrical, field technicians and construction roles. 

Gina brings expertise in full cycle hiring consulting and training and recruiting for specialty construction, operations, and administrative roles. She is also a licensed Professional of Human Resources (PHR).

Natasha Scott, SHRM-SCP | Senior Consultant

Natasha is a SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) Senior Certified Professional. She has over 10 years of experience in global talent acquisition and recruitment, human resources compliance and strategy, training, coaching and facilitating workshops and strategic retreats. 

Prior to joining Hire Education Consulting Group, Natasha served as the Recruiting & Talent Engagement Director for a construction services company where she managed internal talent acquisition as well as a national team of recruiters and human resources professionals.  

Natasha has experience serving a wide variety of industries including construction, agriculture, information technology (IT development, infrastructure, and management), energy and professional services. Her expertise is in working with small to mid-sized organizations seeking to address talent challenges, mitigate retention concerns, create workforce development strategy, implement a successful recruiting and training infrastructure and maintain human resources compliance. She is also well versed in KPI data analytics around retention, hiring and workforce capacity planning.

Her passions include performing arts, wine and world travel.

Shannon Smith | Coordinator

Shannon brings experience in publishing, media relations and organizing community events. She holds a wide skillset including content writing, editing, proofreading and keeping projects on task, across a variety of industries.

Shannon has experience with both private and non-profit businesses. She began her career as the Information Coordinator/Editor for a non-profit association that caters to home furnishings retailers. She later obtained her Real Estate license and joined a top producing Realtor. 

After several successful years as a Realtor, Shannon decided to apply her content writing and editing skills as the Editor of a popular Sacramento area parenting publication. Her involvement with the publication and the community led to her to a role as Director of Communications. 

Shannon’s experience includes content writing, editing, proofreading and keeping projects on task, across a variety of industries.
